Food
For first time visitors it
will a big surprise how good, how cheap and how high the quality of
food is in Thailand.
The Thai's normally doesen't cook anything
at home they buy ready made from some of the thousands
food-stalls on the streets. A good warm meal will cost you only
10-20 pence! In Thai money it's 10-20 Baht. Each food-stall will
have one speciality so the street is like a huge smorgas-board.
A tourist area like Hua Hin has many restaurants with
food from all parts of the world. Pizzas, Steaks, Sea food, European
and Japanese dishes. The prices are still very reasonable so expect
to add weight in Hua Hin.
The big hotels have many restaurants
and different buffet's and barbeques every night. Hilton and Sofitel
are on the top. The prices are still acceptable but with imported
wine it will feel a little like home when you face the bill with
7% VAT, tax and service charge. Your host with Thai wife loves cooking
at home. We have grills and a big kitchen so let's go to the market
and make it together!
